About the Vehicle Assistance Program (VAP)

We want to see you and your family become self-sufficient. Sometimes all you need to break this barrier is help getting to work. We’ve identified vehicle repair to be a stumbling block to success in our communities, and in the families that live there. We are proud to make this program available to you.


What is the Vehicle Assistance Program?
Our program will offer you vehicle repair assistance or money towards the purchase of a new vehicle so long as you meet the requirements. You may receive up to $1,000 for repairs or $2,000 towards a new vehicle.
Who is eligible for the Vehicle Assistance Program (VAP)?
Residents of Bedford, Huntingdon, Fulton, Mifflin, and Juniata counties.
You must be employed or receive a notice of employment with a start date no later than 10 days after intake; or be pursuing post-secondary education 20 hours a week or more.
You must be at or below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines.
