Overall responsibility:

Transport clients via agency vehicles.

Specific Duties:

  1. Transport clients to various locations in three-county area, and on occasion outside the area via agency vehicles
  2. Inspect vehicles and equipment per agency checklist on a daily basis (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water), both pre and post trip
  3. Maintain vehicles and equipment on a regular basis, including but not limited to the following Agency vehicle services: pumping gasoline, cleaning, vacuuming and washing
  4. Assis clients on and off vehicles
  5. Collect daily records and manifests which may include mileage, passengers, and fares collected, if applicable
  6. Drive in a safe and responsible manner at all times
  7. Utilize radio and/or cell phone communication and equipment
  8. Record and report incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency situations
  9. Leave agency vehicles neat and free from debris by removing all trash and personal items from vehicles
  10. Exercise tact, judgment and diplomacy when in contact with clients
  11. Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of standard high school or GED
  2. Two (2) years of related experience and/or training
  3. Knowledge of radio communications is necessary
  4. Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds
  5. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating laws pertaining to public transportation, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals
  6. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, vehicle insurance to comply with Agency standards of coverage, and willing to travel in all the counties we serve, and other counties as required; CDL with passenger endorsement is a plus
  7. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint processed in accordance with Public Law 92522 and Child Protective Services Law (Title 23, PA C.S. Chapter 63), Federal Criminal History Background Check
  8. Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  9. PA State Police Report of Criminal History Clearance.
